Turkey Chili Burgers with Spiced Ketchup

A great summer meal, rich enough that you barely need a side dish from Country Living.

Has Kim tried this? Yes

2 c marinara sauce

1 1.25 oz pkg chili seasoning

3 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, seeded and finely chopped

1.5 lbs ground white-meat turkey

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 c bread crumbs

2 tbsp olive oil

8 hamburger rolls

Make the ketchup: Combine 1.5 c marinara sauce, 3 tbsp chili seasoning, and chipotles in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Simmer for 10 minutes and keep warm.

Make the burgers: Heat oven to 400 degrees. Combine the turkey, 2 oz cream cheese, bread crumbs, and remaining chili seasoning and marinara sauce in a large bowl. Shape into 8 patties. Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium heat. Brown the burgers, 4 at a time, for 3 minutes on a side. Transfer to a baking pan. Place in the oven and cook for 8 more minutes.

Serve each burger on a roll with 1 tbsp cream cheese and ketchup.
